Guido Markowitz
Choreography
Guido Markowitz studied classical ballet, contemporary and modern dance and jazz dance, with Rui Horta and Paul Haze, among others. From 1992- 1994 he was at the Bavarian National Opera in Munich, after that he performed at the Städtischen Bühnen Münster, then he became a soloist and choreographer for dance theatre at the National Theatre Darmstadt in 2004.
Since 2004 Guido Markowitz has worked as independent choreographer and dancer. He choreographed for the Theaterhaus Stuttgart and the theatre in Heilbronn. As a dancer he performed most recently in the performance "Tango" for the dance company Giessen under Tarek Assam. His play "Lust", celebrated by the national press, was invited to the Festival "Tanz Art ostwest" in Giessen in 2005. His last work "Snow Motion" is a coproduction with the Brotfabrik Bonn and the Stadttheater Giessen and had opening night in January 2006.
He also works in different projects with young people. Presently, he is working on his choreography "Abflug" at the Tanzhaus nrw with young people without previous dance experience.
