Geneviève Mazin & Fabrice Guillot RETOURAMONT DANCE COMPANY Extreme and vertical dancers
They have directed the Retouramont Company since 1995. Up until then, each had evolved in different companies.
Trained in classical and contemporary dance, Geneviève Mazin danced with numerous companies, notably with Fabrice Dugied from 1985 to 1990, de Roc in Lichen from 1990 to 1995, with Brigitte Dumez from 1993 to 1995. In 1990 she choreographed "Incrépuscule" in the natural surroundings of Chateau Gaillard followed by the duo "Derrière le Fil" in 1991. Fabrice Guillot trained in contemporary dance with Isabelle Dubouloz in 1988 and became an interpreter with Roc in Lichen and Kitsou Dubois. In 1990, he choreographed "Page d'écriture" with Antoine Le Ménéstrel , "Ilinx" with Ingrid Témin in 1992 and then an urban performance called "La Prisonnière" in 1993.
From 1996 to 2003, they have directed eight choreographies together based on verticality and an urban support: "Vertiges", "Avalanche intérieure", "L'Aval", "Traversée Urbaine", "Extraction", "Promenade au bord du gouffre", "Réflexions de façade", "Furie", "Loi de gravité paradoxale", "L'Avancée du Gouffre".
Their aesthetic is an intelligent synthesis, both sensitive and spectacular, using all the possibilities offered in mountaineering and contemporary dance. They propose a new poetry of verticality and urban on one hand and nature on the other.
The Minister of Culture has entrusted them with several "vertical choreography" projects on natural sites and or well-known historical monuments, such as the Mont St Michel in Normandy, France.
