Alexander Pankov Accordeon
Born in 1971 in Woronesch, Russia, Alexander Pankov received his first musical education in accordeon at the local music school.
At the age of 13 he went to a special school for musically talented children at the Music College of Novosibirsk to study with Prof. A.W. Krupin. After A-Levels, Alexander Pankov studied at the nenowned Music College of Novosibirsk and during his concert exams began teaching there.
In order to become familiar with the traditions of Western music, he went to Germany in 2000 to pursue further studies with E. A. Buchholz at the Music College of Cologne, Department of Wuppertal. In 2006 he did further studies at the Music College Cologne with the subject "Concert exam".
At the international competition of Tscherepowetz ("Cup of the North") and Woronesch (5th allrussian competition) he was an award winner. At the competition of Wladiwostok ("Cup of the far East") and the international competition in New York "Golden Accordion" he won first place.
Alexander Pankov works with the symphony orchestra and the Theatre in Bochum, Hagen, Dortmund, Münster, Bonn, Neuwied, Krefeld, Mönchengladbach, Wuppertal, Köln, Novosibirsk, as well as with the WDR Cologne and various ensembles.
